The citizens of Atlanta and the entire southeast were shocked by the fire underneath Interstate 85 and the subsequent bridge collapse last Thursday. Atlanta traffic is bad enough without the destruction of one of the main arteries in and out of downtown Atlanta. The response by GDOT has been impressive to date with demolition almost complete as of Wednesday
April 5th and the announcement that the re-opening of I-85 is expected by June 15th.
We want to assure our customers that Carolina Lumber located at 504 Plasters Ave is open and accessible. Obviously, the traffic pattern is different; but with motorists avoiding the area in general and the lack of any traffic from I-85 south exiting onto Armour Drive in particular, the volume of traffic around our Plaster Ave location is moderate and very navigable.
The best approach to the store is by traveling northbound on Monroe Drive to avoid the traffic from the exit ramp from 85 north just in front of the fire station on Monroe Drive. However, you can access our location from either direction.
Deliveries into and out of Plaster Ave are being made without delay. Our customer’s satisfaction is our #1 goal as always so please do not hesitate to call us for delivery of your order or pick up at the store.
We appreciate our customers and your patience through this unusual event. We are here to serve your building material needs and hope that you will come visit us at our 504 Plasters Ave store soon. You are cordially invited to our annual BBQ to be held on Thursday May 4th from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Please see the accompanying flyer.
